Afro Journey is a 7-piece South African funk and soul band based in Johannesburg Springs, Gauteng. The band was formed in 2012 by a group of South African music enthusiasts who met through a mutual friend organizing a band to work abroad. Afro Journey founding members are Mduduzi Mathebula; Sabelo Mtshali; Bheki Ntshalintshali; David Moagi; Siphiwe Shiburi; Sanele Mfene; Mbalizethu Siloma. Since then, the band has developed its unique brand of entertainment that combines funky 80’s and 90’s synths, African and international soft hitting grooves, soulful guitars, tight three-part vocal harmonies, punchy horn lines with flashy choreography, and a beautifully timed light show and impeccable attire that make you want to dance all night and float away on a dream cloud.
