Bangalore, Karnataka, May 31, 2024 – Prajwal Revanna, the Janata Dal (Secular) Member of Parliament for Hassan, was arrested today at Bangalore Airport upon his arrival from Germany. This arrest comes in connection with multiple rape cases filed against him, following an intensive investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
The arrest warrant, originally issued on May 18, 2024, pertains to allegations made by a former domestic worker who accused Prajwal Revanna and his father, HD Revanna, of sexual harassment and rape. These serious accusations have been corroborated by multiple victims, leading to an expansive investigation.
HD Revanna, a JD(S) leader and Holenarsipura MLA, was previously arrested in relation to these allegations and subsequently granted conditional bail. Prajwal Revanna, who fled to Germany prior to the issuance of the warrant, was intercepted at Bangalore Airport due to a Blue Corner notice issued by Interpol. This notice was instrumental in tracking his movements and ensuring his return to India for legal proceedings.
The SIT has been diligently working to gather evidence and witness testimonies to build a robust case against both Prajwal and HD Revanna. The arrest marks a significant development in this high-profile case, reflecting the commitment of law enforcement agencies to uphold justice.
Legal proceedings are expected to commence shortly, with Prajwal Revanna facing multiple charges of sexual abuse and harassment. The Michran Group will continue to provide updates as the case progresses.
