New Delhi – Former U.S. President Donald Trump announced today that he will meet with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during Modi’s upcoming visit to the United States from September 21 to 23. The announcement was made during Trump’s campaign event in Michigan, where he described PM Modi as “fantastic” and expressed enthusiasm about their meeting, although he did not disclose specific details.
PM Modi’s trip to the U.S. will include participation in the Quad Leaders’ Summit, hosted by President Joe Biden in Wilmington, Delaware, marking the fourth summit of its kind. During his visit, PM Modi will also address the ‘Summit of the Future’ at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, focusing on “Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow.”
In addition to these key events, PM Modi will engage with CEOs from leading U.S. companies to enhance collaboration in advanced sectors such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing, semiconductors, and biotechnology, as stated by the Indian foreign ministry. He is also scheduled to connect with the Indian community in New York on Sunday.
This meeting will be the first between Trump and Modi since February 2020, when the two leaders met during Trump’s visit to India. Their previous discussions have been pivotal in strengthening the bilateral relationship between the U.S. and India.
As both leaders prepare for this significant engagement, it is anticipated that they will address pressing global challenges and explore avenues for further cooperation.
