Former External Affairs Minister and Karnataka Chief Minister S.M. Krishna Passes Away at 92

Veteran statesman and visionary leader S.M. Krishna, who played a transformative role in shaping Karnataka’s growth story and India’s diplomatic stature, passed away at his residence this morning. He was 92 and had been unwell for some time, according to his family.

He served as External Affairs Minister of India, Governor of Maharashtra, Chief Minister of Karnataka, Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, and Minister in the Karnataka government.

Krishna’s tenure as Karnataka’s Chief Minister was marked by revolutionary changes, particularly in the fields of information technology (IT) and biotechnology (BT).
