In a press statement, Capt Chowta stated that under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF), the government has allocated funds for the development of approximately 74.30 kilometers of roads in the district. He expressed his gratitude to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari for their support in releasing the funds.
The sanctioned road development projects in Dakshina Kannada are as follows:
- Mani-Ullal State Highway in Mangaluru taluk: 5.7 km for Rs 3.42 crore.
- Uchila-Deralakatte district road: 1 km renovation for Rs 60 lakh.
- Permannur-Pavoor road: 1.1 km renovation for Rs 66 lakh.
- Kotekar-Pathur road: 2.2 km for Rs 1.32 crore.
- Kadur-Kanhangad State Highway 64: 2.25 km for Rs 1.35 crore.
- Surathkal-Kabaka road in Bantwal taluk: 3.33 km for Rs 2 crore.
- Panemangalore-Pathur road: 3.2 km for Rs 1.92 crore.
- Maripalla-Kalpane road: 1.22 km for Rs 73 lakh.
- Nintikal-Bellare-Nettaru road: 6.2 km upgrade for Rs 3.72 crore.
- Sullia-Paicharu-Bellare road: 3.8 km upgrade for Rs 2.28 crore.
- Subrahmanya-Manjeshwar State Highway: 5.2 km for Rs 3.12 crore.
- Nintikal-Bellare-Nettaru-Amchinadka-Kavu-Ishwaramangala-Pallattaru road in Puttur taluk: 4.8 km for Rs 2.88 crore.
- Guruvayanakere-Uppinangady road in Beltangady taluk: 10 km for Rs 6 crore.
- Punarooru-Shanthipalke-Damaskatte road in Mangaluru taluk: 11.7 km renovation for Rs 6 crore.
- Bhatrakere-Kattalsar-Kukkudakatte-Neerkere-Todaru-Mastikatte district road in Mangaluru taluk: 6.1 km for Rs 3 crore.
- Sampige-Ashwathapura-Neerkere-Mijar district road: 6.5 km development for Rs 3 crore.
These road projects are set to significantly enhance connectivity and infrastructure in Dakshina Kannada district, promoting economic growth and improving the quality of life for residents.
